SANDHILLS WOMEN’S EXCHANGE CELEBRATES THEIR CENTENNIAL Barbara Summers and Elizabeth Fisher discuss the upcoming Centennial Dinner Dance on May 19th at The Fair Barn from 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. The event will feature catering by White Rabbit and music provided by Carolina Moon Dogs.

In addition to the event the Sandhills Women’s Exchange is have a raffle that is beyond belief.

Raffle tickets are $100.0 each.  First Prize is a World Traveler or USA Explorer Vacation Package, 2nd prize is a stay vacation at the Pinehurst Resort and the 3rd prize is a SWE Log Cabin Private Event.

The ENCORE CENTER PRESENTS :  THE SPITFIRE GRILL – April 29th thru May 8th This 1996 American film, written and directed by Lee David Zlotoff, is being produced and directed by Jacob Toth, the Artistic Director of the Encore Center.

Lead actresses Betty Ann O’Brien and Julie Briggs and actor James Wheeler join Jacob to talk about the production.  www.encore.net

Rachel Jurgens has enjoyed overwhelming success with the opening of Red’s Corner at the corner of Old U.S. 1 and Morganton Rd.  Her vision of a park like setting with food trucks has instantly become an ‘event’ venue.

The Southern Pines Business Association is planning for SPRINGFEST on April 30th, from 10:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m The annual celebration of Southern Pines features artisans, food trucks, rides for kids and many community based organizations sharing information about what they offer.

SPRINGFEST IS BACK – SOUTHERN PINES BUSINESS ASSOCIATION

April 24th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. marks the return of SPRINGFEST to downtown Southern Pines.

Established in 1979, the Southern Pines Business Association’s annual event has been under the direction of Susan Harrison since 2000.

Today, SPRINGFEST stands as one of the town’s premier annual events and it has evolved into a celebration of spring as well as a celebration of the Town of Southern Pines.

Current President of SPBA, Julia Brokmeyer, Past President, Tonya Thomas and Susan Harrison detail the many events that will happen during this year’s event.

The Southern Pines Business Association

Founded in 1979 by a small group of dedicated merchants, the Southern Pines Business Association continually works towards the promotion, beautification and overall improvement of the Southern Pines community. It is the mission of the Southern Pines Business Association is to encourage and enhance the commercial well-being of Southern Pines and improve the quality of its common life.

The Purpose of the SPBA:

1 To create a network of businesses with an interest in the welfare of Southern Pines;

2 To encourage cooperative efforts, business to business, within the community; and

3 To perform other services, such as community events, that are mutually beneficial to the Association and the community.
