Dear Local Business Owner,
My name is Elizabeth O’Brien I am a fifteen year old sophomore at
Pinecrest High School and the daughter of an active duty Soldier. I have
been volunteering with Military Missions in Action since I was 12 years old.
Last year I decided I needed to focus on helping other military children, so
I founded the Military Child Access Assistance Program. It is my goal to
raise funds and awareness for disabled military children who need
modification to their homes. Modifications can consist of ramps, widening
doorways, or even installing handrails up. These simple changes can help
these special children live a more normal life and can take a little stress
away from their caregivers. There are so many military children who are
struggling getting in and out of their homes. This is one of the only ways
that they can get a ramp. Lucky for me I have an amazing organization
behind me, MMIA (Military Missions in Action). MMIA assists wounded or
disabled veterans and active duty personal. Last year I created
“Hike2Help”, which has now become an annual fundraising event for MMIA and
the Military Child Access Assistance Program. The hike is co-sponsored by
the Village of Pinehurst and takes place at Cannon Park on May 24, 2014.
Last year’s hike was very successful raising over $3,000 and I am so
grateful. This year my goal is $5,000 with your help I can achieve my dreams
of helping our very special little military hero’s. I was truly hoping that
you would want to be a sponsor. Our sponsors get their logo or name on the
back of each t-shirt for the hike, recognition on the website and Facebook
page, and recognition at the opening ceremonies. Last year our top sponsor
even hiked along with everyone! I hope that you consider becoming a sponsor
for Hike2Help and know that your contribution will help our smallest
military members and their families.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Elizabeth O’Brien
