Looking for Your Social Community?

Join Newcomers to Make Friends while Having Fun!

newcomers1Many residents of Moore County have relocated here from somewhere else, and most have had to start from scratch to locate essential services, establish a social network, and feel comfortable that their new community is truly “home.” Many more have seen significant changes in their lives – loss of a spouse/partner, divorce, “empty nest,” change in health – and have reasons to form new social connections. Newcomers of the Pinehurst Area is an organization that introduces Moore County residents to one another and the community by providing social events and activities for our members.

Several members of the Newcomers group – Monica Converse, Jim Truemper, and Vicki Hancock – spoke with Bill Sahadi about the many activities we offer our members.

Hundreds of Moore County residents, both full- and part-time, from all over the U.S. and Canada, are members of Newcomers. At $60 a couple or $35 an individual, your initial two-year membership costs less than one nice meal at a local restaurant. Our activities appeal to men and women, individuals and couples, and bring together people who form lasting friendships through shared experiences.

If you are athletically inclined, we have two weekly golf groups – one 18-hole and one 9-hole – as well as walking groups that meet several times each week. If you’re interested in seated games and activities, we offer monthly book discussion groups, bridge, Bunco, and Mah Jongg. Enjoy trying a new restaurant or socializing over tasty snacks and beverages? Then try any of our food-centered activities: Lunch Bunch, Dining Out, Fermented Fridays, coffee group, or a wine-tasting group. And so much more!newcomers2

To learn more about Newcomers and our many activities, visit our web site: www.newcomersofpinehurst.com.
