SOUTHERN PINES AUTHOR & SCREENWRITER GAYVIN POWERS

Gayvin Powers is the author of Julie Fae, a self proclaimed love letter to her mother and an empowering vehicle of self worth and esteem for elementary to middle school age girls. Gayvin was the receipient of the Ojai Film Society Award for her screenplay entitled ” 1916 “. Gayvin shares her methodolgy, inspiration and structure along with Keith McDaniel.
Gayvin shares a lot of insight from her direct work with Keith as well as providing encouraging words for the writer in all of us. She carefully examines how the various elements of grief, guilt, love & passion can interact to enable people to get in touch with their creative & expresive side.

8th grade student Elyssa Zimmerman from Southern Middle School, 9th grader Grace Johnston and 10th grader, Alyssa Stroker from Pinecrest High join Bill and guest co-host, Patrick Coughlin, President of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce, in an inspiring and uplifting conversation about their school experiences and aspirations. Their discipline, organizational skills, passions, and commitments are revealed thru their observations about family, their role model inspirations, and their ability to see the world with a broader lense. The formulas Elyssa, Grace & Alyssa have learned, inherited and practice will serve them well at every stage of their lives.
