Chris J. Hamilton discusses his moving book, CHE-MOment.
The book is available at The Country Bookstore in Southern Pines and on line at AuthorHouse, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books a Million & Kobo Books. His inspired account of his two year discovery, struggle and triumph over numerous cancers, (AML, M2, Leukemia and beyond), could well serve as the quintessential handbook and guide through a process that requires the patient to embrace the simple phrase; Develop an Attitude of Gratitude. The book is a journey of sorts through Chris’s family, his own medical career, his doctors, his friends, his treatments, his advice on self care, diet, self advocacy, and most importantly his counsel and desire to share his story with others so that they may prepare, endure and prosper through this process and get to the “other side.” One reader;Valeria Piedrahita said, “I cried, I laughed, I experienced goose-bumps, fear, Faith, and prayer. A goulash of mixed emotions. You nailed it! What patients and families need.” The tenets of this book transcend cancer and speak to the everyday struggles, trials, and tribulations we all face. How we face them and how we persevere is the message we are all left with. Chris’ book Pays it Forward in a way that will allow the reader to shed their own everyday worries and concerns and put them into a perspective that will lighten their load and elevate their spirit. Chris will be doing a book signing on Aug. 16th at 5:00 p.m. at the Country Book Shop in downtown Southern Pines. (910 692-3211). A portion of the proceeds from CHE-MOment will go to the following foundations:
The Bone Marrow Foundation, The Cancer Care Fund with the Foundation of First Health, UNC Lineberger Cancer Hospital Patients Fund, and The National Marrow Donor Program.
