spring season Southern Pines celebrates their quaint town with FIRST FRIDAY..an event running from May 5th through the first weekend of October. Anthony Parks, the owner of the iconic Ice Cream Parlor, Tap Manager, Keith Siles of the Southern Pines Brewing Company & Nationwide Insurance Executive, Mike Murphy discuss the season’s events and the integral part that the Sunrise Theatre plays in the fabric of the community.

Celebrating Spring Classic 18th Anniversary April 28-30, 2017! Exhibitors, Challenge Cup, Course, Vie for a silver trophy. An International Event … or just bragging rights as you shoot against fine sportsmen (or your personal best) in an environment replete with camaraderie, competition, and tradition. Bill Kempffer’s Bio
Founder and operator of Deep River Sporting Clays and Shooting School since January of 1989 and founder of the Southern Side by Side Championship & Exhibition first held in April of 2000.
“I am passionate about coaching all levels of shooters, from complete beginners to advanced. Having been involved in the shooting sports since a youngster, it is a blessing to have the opportunity to help others achieve their goals and I am grateful to have been able to do that for the past 25 years. I believe in keeping things simple and allowing each person to discover and capitalize on their strengths while passing on the tools that
will serve them well. I have discovered that the keys to success are Focus, Movement & Faith and believe the outdoor sports, particularly shooting, promote physical and mental well-being.”
