The “All Things Moore County” program this morning is a Candidate Forum for the Aberdeen Town Commission race in the upcoming municipal election on Tuesday Nov. 7th. Over the past two weeks we have had the Southern Pines and Pinehurst Candidate Forums on the air. I also want to remind you that early voting at the Ag Center in Carthage will close at 1 pm this afternoon.
There will be six candidates on the Aberdeen ballot; for mayor, Robbie Farrell (running for re-election) and Ron Utley. For Town Commissioner; there are four candidates running for two seats. They include incumbent Joe Dannelley, Bryan Bowles, Wilma Laney and Frankie Holt. Four of the candidates are with us this morning.

The Pinehurst ballot will have eight candidates for 2 seats on the town council and 7 of those candidates are with us this morning; Claire Berggren (the only current council member) Bart Bouderaux; Judy Davis; Kevin Drum; Collett Kolinski; Myles Larsen and Tony Price.
2017 WEEB Election Roundtable on All Things Moore County
Now through November 5th WEEB will present a Candidate Roundtable featuring municipal candidates from Southern Pines, Pinehurst and Aberdeen. There are four candidates vying for two seats on the So. Pines Town Council; Carol Haney, Mitch Lancaster, Marsh Smith and Dan Kohn.

The Sunshine Boys is being reborn and there are no two actors who are better equipped to play these roles.
The story of Weymouth began in the early 1900s when James Boyd, Sr. of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, purchased over 1200 acres at the request of his daughter Helen Boyd Dull to save the longleaf pine forest from the destruction of the turpentine industry.
The Georgian mansion that we know today was built in 1922 by his grandson, author James Boyd and his wife Katharine. Here they hosted literary greats, founded the Moore County Hounds, and influenced the design of a community.
Today the story continues with a writers in residency program, literary programming, musical concerts and a dedication to conserving the gardens and longleaf pine forests.
