Carolina Eye Associates was founded by Dr. Robert Gale Martin in 1977 in Southern Pines, NC. Carolina Eye is one of the largest eye care providers in the Southeast, with eight regional locations providing comprehensive eye care and leading edge technology to patients from across the U.S. and over 20 foreign countries.
The practice is a multi-subspecialty eye center where board-certified ophthalmologists, along with a team of optometrists and support staff, provide a full range of diagnostic and treatment services. These services include state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment of cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, corneal eye disease and ophthalmic plastic surgery.
The board certified physicians also offer procedures such as LASIK, laser vision correction and the implantable contact lens. Also, our aesthetic center offers services for eyelid and brow lifts, as well as laser facial rejuvenation and cosmetic Botox.
The flagship center in Southern Pines offers patients the added convenience of an on-site surgery center managed by Eye Surgery Center of the Carolinas, an affiliate of SCA. This facility is accredited by the Joint Commission (JC) which means its standards are regarded as the most rigorous in the industry.
Carolina Eye is in the final stages of the expansion and has increased the on-site parking lot with 450 spaces, expanded the clinic and ambulatory care center. The addition to the northeast side of the building will be 8,017 square feet on two floors.
