Communities In Schools – 20th Annual Rigsby-Clark Golf Tournament – Aug. 13th

IMG_0008Executive Director, Bryana Nelson & fundraising volunteers, Davis Clark & Bob Rigsby join us to discuss CIS and their upcoming fundraising golf tournament on Aug. 13th at the Longleaf Golf Club.

The tournament is 20 years young and is Communities in School’s largest fundraiser of the year.

Communities in Schools is one of the most important non-profit organizations in Moore County. http://cismoore.org/

Guests discuss the delicate balance they strike with up and coming Middle Schoolers (grades 6 thru 8) and how the many programs CIS offers help guide these students as they transition into young adults.

The tenets of the CIS program are based in tried and true mentoring programs and the Stephen Covey (Seven Habits of Highly Effective People) models to provide life maps to our Middle School students to make them responsible and disciplined young adults. https://www.stephencovey.com/7habits/7habits.php

CIS is a 12 month a year program. They are always looking for adult mentors and volunteers and IMG_0001continue to think outside the box in order to raise needed funds so that the great work this organization offers can remain vital and viable for any and all students.
